Excuse the fingerprints... Haven't had time to give it a good clean yet...

Currently I'm running the 2 Lian Li 120mm fans that came with the case (the Corsair ones that came with the H80 were LOUD) but I've just ordered another Bitfenix Pro 120mm LED and 140mm (for the blowhole). Also got some individually sleeved cables and an NZXT sleeved LED strip coming... Oh and the Lian Li Grill for the 14mm top fan and the Optical Drive cover - that BluRay drive is UGLY.

Previous 2 Lian Li cases were the PC-B20 and before that the PC-6087

Nope. I've temporarily reversed it... I put a separator between the PSU exhaust and the 120mm fan - behind the faceplate. The Video card exhausts out the back and so does the H80 push/pull. The front fan is an intake and the PSU exhausts out the bottom half of the faceplate's sidevents...

When I put the 140mm in the top I'm going to make that the intake and everything else exhaust. I think that'll work best but not 100% until I try it... Currently my CPU maxes out at about 38-40deg C and the GPU at about 55... That's with an ambient temp of 18-20deg....

Having the top intake and front and back exhaust would be a negative pressure setup.

It would be better to have the front and top intake, and the rear exhaust.

You might be right... It'll probably also help with the "dead spot" around the GPU... I don't have any problem there at the moment but I don't want to create one and I know that others have experienced issues...

How have you got your's set up?

I have the rear and top as intake and front as exhaust. I have the Gaia horizontally with the fan blowing down onto the graphics card, and I have the powersupply upside down sucking air from inside the case.

This setup creates a positive pressure environment around my 7850 which forces the radiating hot air out the exhausts. So the air underneath my graphics card is a constant cycling of cool air instead of stagnant warm air.

So in total, I have a pseudo push-pull setup on the Gaia and great cooling for my graphics card.

Sounds like a good setup. Not something I can do with the H80 though... I have thought about upending the PSU though.... Think I might have to do some airflow tests once I get the new fans in...

Upending the PSU is the only way that makes sense to me.

If you have it intake from the base of the case and then exhaust out the front, it does nothing except radiate it's own heat into the case. If it's upside down at least it pulls it's own weight and removes it's own "heat-footprint" or whatever you want to call it.

Yeah... I've been thinking the same thing... Will wait until I get the 140 in though... Otherwise I'm just creating more negative pressure at this point...

question: wondering if anyone here has a RX480 or a 480 rad in their Lian Li case.
If so; which one and what kind of modding did you do?

thanks thumb.gif
