That really is super-tasteful. My A70B looks like crap, banged up and scratched from use and no mods whatsoever, cable mismanagement up the wazoo.. I think it might be better if I refrain from attempting to 'improve' it with my ten thumbs though.

Very nice. Moar pix?

Hey thanks fellas!

Bowman, I bet its not as bad as you make it out. There's tons of pics in my project log, here.

(There's even some tips on how to get scuffs off lian li anodizing if you root around in there long enough).

Prepare a bucket..

I do have some plans to fix the cabling a little once I actually finish this thing. It's not running currently so there's no reason to even try to make it look nice until I've got a somewhat permanent parts setup in it. The 1 metre SAS spaghetti is a bit of a headache, especially where to hide the unused connectors. I have a plan that involves routing them along the graphics card bracket holder thingy, though, and I want to turn the hard drive cage into a hot-swap thingy like the 5.25" bays I installed. I can't find any standalone backplanes though.

ugh, that SAS cabling does look like a nightmare.

If it was me, I'd go red accents for a theme and just display it.

That looks like an older or newer version of the case. Your chassis has beefier looking corner reinforcements than mine does. That's cool.

I'm going for the 'enterprise server' theme since I have a boring looking, green-PCB Tyan board on order - neat, clean cabling, but not hysterically so.

I wish I could mount the HDD cage in the lower area and place the PSU on top without losing those HDD slots. Without use of hacksaw - that would end in disaster.

The Sun workstations have a cover in the lower area of the case to cover up the cabling. I see you had the same idea - maybe I should look into that..

How many of your 5.25 bays are you going to be using Bowman?

If cutting is not your thing, you could just mount that top HD cage up on the bottom shelf of the 5.25 bays with some 3M double sided tape. I expanded mine and bolted it in, but an unmodified cage would fit in there nicely.

You would want to measure / test fit to be sure, but I think you would still have full use of the top two optical bays.

Oh, I already used all of them. http://i43.tinypic.com/r1wg9d.jpg

I guess the difference between 13 and 16 3.5" slots really isn't going to be noticeable for a while yet.

edit; The cage does fit in the lower area.

Just fixing it up and getting ready for the new motherboard.

I wish Lian Li would sell this cage as a separate part, with the brackets;

Giving serious thought to selling the TJ07 and moving my desktop into a V2000... I would ask for your opinions but I know what the answer is already!
