I think I smell a power problem. If you have a second PS kicking around, try powering one or both your 8800's from it. You can jump the power good pin on the mobo connector of the second PS to run it. If you can OC like that then you need a bigger PS.
I had trouble OC'ing on the system with the specs in my sig, but with a 40mm pelt under a heatpipe cooler and an OCZ 850w PS. To OC at all I had to power the 8800's with a second 500w PS. I replaced the pelt setup with the Thermalright U120X and the OCZ PS with a Cooler Master 1250w and bam, I was instantly in business. I'm at 4300 (9.5x453) right now, stable for 3DMark06 (22185 IIRC), but dies in Prime95 after about a half hour. I had also successfully booted into windows at 4.5 (10x450) before I did the vdroop pencil mod, but it wouldn't load for long before it blue screened XP.
My problem atm is heat, I'm up against the wall and I can't give it any more vcore than 1.4. Today is lapping day, both the U120X and the CPU case. I also have a 60mm fan from a stock XP1900 cooler for the chipset cooler that will be going in.
Does anyone know any place that has the good Delta 120mm fans in stock? W TF is up with those? I can't find a FFB1212EHE, TFB1212GHE or PFB1212EHE anywhere at any price. Does anyone know of a 120x38 or thinner alternative that will push 150 cfm or more? Any thicker than 38mm and I'm over the DDR slots. My 120x38 Panaflow H1A will only do 104 cfm. With a 94 cfm Thermaltake on the other side as a puller it drops the core temps 1.5c. With lapping I expect to able to extract a significant amount more heat and a bigger blow should reap even more benefits. I'd like to get 4600 out of this 9650 on air before I start on water.
