How to: Make my Fx5200 to a full fx5500

Thread Starter
To make your geforce FX5200 into a fully funcional fx5500 you need to identify how much onboard memory your card has and its memory bus width 64 bit or 128 bit.
You will need to download nvflash

There are guides on www.mvktech.net on how to use nvflash

Once you have your video card's bus width figured out you need to download bios but you must have 128 MB of memory as i cannot find any 256MB bios.

The video card manufactuer is not an issue. You can use any brand of video card with these Gygabyte BIOS

128-bit

64-bit

If you want you can use NiBiToR to edit the bios to make it say what you want in the POST screen and set new defalt clock speeds.

Pretty good, but I have a 256MB/128-bit card. Let me know if you find anything for that.

You need to 'read from memory' in the program. (arrow right of open, should open up menu)
Then change the name to 5500.
Then find out the 5500 clocks (270 Core, 200 Mem (400 DDR))
Input them in the initialization tables. Save, and flash.

And will this improve the card? Just changing the name? I already use rivatuner to overclock my fx5200 to 315core/225mem (450DDR)
