my guess is....shipping damage
isn't there like an insurance for shipping? which would cost you extra

You guessed wrong. It was about leaks or other issues from being an LCS sys.

Seems like a lotta cake...but if you are game I'll hook you up with a killer build.

My Estimate is just that: an estimate. The actual cost would be based on the cost of the LCS parts and then a fee for the assembly and then actual shipping costs.

If anybody is qualified to build a LCS it would be Cyberdruid, I am sure he would test everything before he ships it and remove the coolant from the system if need be for shipping. If there was a leak at your end shipping insurance should cover the cost of any "accident" caused by the abuse of shipping.

Agreed. But in reality despite my experience and skill leaks do happen. I deal with that in the following manner. Provided you have not taken it on yourself to alter the rig and create the problem I repair the rig and return it to you at NC. You will need to pay shipping to me and I will pay shipping back to you.

If I determine the issue is caused by a failed part I handle the RMA of the part if possible and try to recoup my losses by reselling the NIB parts after I get them back from the MFR(s). To expedite the repairs I simply puirchase whatever parts need replacing and get the job done ASAP.

That is a level of service that few if any builders are willing to stand behind.

When you buy a CDPC you get a limited lifetime warranty on my workmanship. The hardware is covered solely by the MFR warranty.

IN this case since the parts are all used CDPC is not going to cover the hardware: if you burn up your motherboard overclocking it is on you, not me, to RMA it. However if you decided to disassemble my work *the LCS) to upgrade or RMA something you have essentially voided my warranty.

I can only stand behind my UNMOLESTED workmanship...nothing else.

Likewise if you corrupt your OS or get a virus or what have you that is beyond the scope of the warranty. You will need to resolve any SW related issues on your own.

I am a hardware guy... not a Ninja Coder Monkey...so other than testing the system with an installation of the OS and drivers I do not provide any other service RE SW.

I hope that is a clear description of the scope and intent of my warranty.

Basically if anything I did screws up your rig I fix it for free. If anything you do screws up your rig you pay. If any of ytour HW unrelated to my work fails it's up to you to RMA. If you take my work apart to RMA then you void the warranty.

When I purchase, assemble and test from the ground up EVERYTHING is covered: I will handle the RMA process, etc etc.

A good example is Pippen's Rig: He provided the funds I purchased the HW and everything is 100% covered. Any thing fails I will handle it. Period.

QuakeMazer's rig is a different story: He provided some funds for purchasing and some used HW for installation. If the stuff he provided fails it's up to him to handle the RMA. If the stuff I provided and installed fails it's up to me. There are certain gray areas here and I lean toward favoring the client in those areas.

For instance a leak forms from the loop and wipes out a GFX card: I will replace the card and attempt to RMA the damaged one. He does not need to wait on the RMA: I will simply purchase a card and pop it in and send the rig back at my expense. I feel that someone has gone though enough without waiting three months for an RMA or whatever. To recoup my expense I will then resell the NIB RMAed card when it arrives.

Basically I treat my clients like gold. I want them to singe my praises. It's important to me that my work stand head and shoulders above all others.

No offense, but man USPS is such a rip off. They'll kill you with taxes for border-crossing, too. Good luck with the build, though!

One BIG warning with USPS International is THERE IS NO INSURANCE OVER ABOUT 300 bucks. I tried Insuring a laptop for $1000 and couldn't.

Go UPS/DHL/FedEx instead.
