Multisampling vs. Supersampling?

Thread Starter
I noticed I can get away with running Multisampling without a big perforance hit, Supersampling does look a little bit better in some areas, but it taxes frames at some points. Which do you use and which is better? Also, should I set Antistrophic optimization and Trilinear optimization to On? I can't seem to notice too much of a visual loss in that either but I think it did gain me a few frames.

EDIT: Also, LOD Clamp or Allow?

It's kind of a personal preference, striking a balance between performance and eye candy. I run Transparency Antialiasing at Multisampling with all optimizations off.

If you run Anisotropic Filtering on it is recommended to set Negative LOD Bias to Clamp for best image quality.

selecting "High Quality" in the presets will turn OFF all optimizations, so that means best quality when set to OFF. i mainly use the presets everytime. and as been said, Clamp for best image quality. you can actually read all about this stuff right there in the nVidia Contol Panel's "HELP", so no guesswork there. oh and, i run TRAAA Supersampling whenever i can get away with it. differs with every game of course.
