As per my history of stock computers, most of them are intended for use in office settings in which they are never turned off, I do not see it as a problem leaving a stock on 24/7.

I set my automatic turn off monitor function to a really low setting like 3 minutes, it's bad for your monitor I suppose since it's being turned off and on. Especially when I'm working away at my desk and I'm watching tv at the same time and get distracted alot, its always turning on and off, but monitors are cheap and last as long as you need them too usually anyway. I figure that cuts down cost enough.
