But seriously folks don't try this at home. We're trained professionals paid to risk life and limb to make your PC look awesome.

And I didn't stick my thumb in the Tablesaw...I ran a router over my thumb...that was interesting.

Just me and the dog about 11 PM at the shop I had for 8 years in Florida. It was a real mess...but did not hurt me like the tip of the finger did...I was able to drive home and drop off the dog and get over to the Masonic Hospital without much trouble...

The Doc was kind of laughing at me while he stiched back the nine flaps of skin. He didn't try real hard to put the skin back together...real fast about it and see ya later...looks like an Armadillo...the Armadillo thumb is a reminder that after 10 hours not to work with power tools and after twelve no sharp objects

Can you imagine...?

When you stick your finger in the saw two things happen...first there is a flash of white light like and explosion inside your eyeballs then there is the rush of adrenalin or whatever that actually helps you avoid shock for a few moments...during that brief interlude you are able to do what needs to be done to get yourself to some help...then you generally collapse in a heap and go into semishock.

Whacking your digits is such an overload to the nervous system that I think your body disconnects and absorbs the hyperactive nerve energy...and then shuts down and reboots

And it makes your finger shorter. Luckily I have some lizard blood in me and it grew back. The fingerprint is still messed up though.
I feel for you.. my right index finger is aesthetically (visually) intact after I chopped it off with a meat saw, but I have no feeling in it... when it was cut, I was glad it cut through the nerves... I didn't feel anything the whole time... even had a smoke on the way to the hospital...

Dude, I could totally use one of those, but no way in hell do I have the cash haha. Was helping renovate my girlfriend's room with her dad the other day, and it was a real ***** using that saw...

If I remember correctly (god its been like 10 years since i been to that site ) your body sends electrical signals so when you touch the metal on the saw, it activavtes the stop (similar to an ipod click wheel). If it doesn't make sense, I haven't slept in 8 days...
