I'm pretty pleased with it considering it's pc6400 5-5-5-18 memory

I had to up the vmem to 2.1v and it warms up but it's not hot.

yeah, i wouldnt go any higher volts than that for PC6400.. depends on what your RAM is rated at though..

have you tried maybe lowering the clocks and then tightening the timings? or is 950mhz keeping your FSB:ram ratio @ 1:1 ?

950 is 2:3

if I want to lower the clocks I'd have to either lower my cpu overclock or set the memory to unlinked

I've tried 4-4-4-12@800Mhz, without the cpu overclocked, but that doesn't work, not even at 2.1v vmem

I had issues getting mine stable at 3.2Ghz. I think it is a FSB hole for these boards or somthing. I run mine @ 3.6Ghz. I use the P07 BIOS. Unlink everything, set ram to default speeds. Set FSB to 1600. Set CPU Core to 1.525 cause the vdroop is horrid on this board, should give you 1.48 in OS and 1.46 under load. Make sure to disable all the spread spectrum settings, and all the speed step stuff. Oh and set the FSB, SSP and all those volts, except memory close to max (1.4 or 1.5). If thats not stable back down to 3.4Ghz or increase volts.

Hey guys I am somewhat new to overclocking and I had a question.
Here is my setup:

Mobo: XFX 680i LT SLI
CPU: Intel q6600 @ 2.7Ghz
RAM: 2 gigs Corsair XMS2
Graphics: 2x XFX 9600 GT Extreme Edition

I was tinkering around a little bit earlier today and wanted to see what kind of speeds i could achieve. I don't have the stats for my current voltages and such right now, but I will update as soon as I get them. I was wondering if anyone has done any overclocking with the Ultra ChillTEC cooler and if they have what kind of results they have gotten.

Unless you absolutely know what you are doing, don't expect to much out of the 680i LT with a q6600. 3.2ghz ish...

I really just wanted to get up to 3.0 Ghz but after I bought this cooler I read some more in-depth reviews and some people said that it wasn't the best. So I am wondering if it is realistic to get it up to 3.0 or 3.2 with allowable temperatures.

You guys are all LEGENDS.

I had my lapped Q6600 running at 3.0Ghz for ages on an Asus P5N-E until it went bust so picked up the XFX 680i LT on the cheap and it's been great so far.

From my priliminary testng I can hit 3.2Ghz with some of your suggestions but can't go to much higher. Currently I am at 3.246Ghz (or something) with all voltages at default and an 8x multiplier and it is solid. Prime95 and games are running great and 3DMark06 in Vista64 has given me and increase of 700 points over the last time.

No matter what I try to go above 3.246Ghz though it seems to blue screen on windows boot and then reboot the computer. Is this because of the 'vdroop hole'?

Thanks again guys.
