Interested in a motherboard that requires and cpu that is AM2+. What CPU's are "+" and what is the difference.

AM2+ is for newer processors like the Phenom
from what ive seen you can use AM2+ processors in AM2 sockets but they dont run at their full potential

One of the motherboards I was looking at required a AM2+ cpu for 1066 ram. thx for the info

if your buying a new mobo and processor why not go with intel if you can afford it? if you were just gonna upgrade your processor then stay with amd am2. but intel currently out perfroms AMD

I shooting towards Intel. I currently running a 939 socket motherboard. Minds really set on the Q6600.

Correct me if im wrong but the AM2+ has the HT3.0 and 2.0 PCI-e support. Bother what which cant be fully utilized just yet but still both good features
