linux live cd login problems

Thread Starter
well i just downloaded my first bootable linux cd and i can't figrure out how to get logged into it. i thought the default account would be: root , and PW would be: password. btu its not.

do i have to create an account by modifying the files before i burn it to a cd? or am i just missing something thats right in front of my face?

It's usually a combination of "root" and "admin" or "administrator" or something like that.

But again, it depends on the distro. Some distros have special login names...

I also get a dead page...

Best bet beside Google is a combination of "root," "admin," and "administrator."

is there a way to add account information to any of the files that i would have before i burn the cd, or put it onto my flash drive? it seems that that would be a more logical approach.

edit*
or could it be domething that i would be able to find in one fo the files?
