catalyst 8.2 = no crossfire...?

Thread Starter
As many know, catalyst 8.2 adds some much wanted performance gains in some games and benchies, however after installing this driver package i found myself in a slight pickle. I have in my case 2 HD 2900 GT graphics cards... though limited on support they deliver excellent performance. Crossfire on catalyst 7.12 (the shipped drivers for the cards) allows crossfire in vista 32bit, but i have noted that those drivers are lacking in performance for many applications. upon installing catalyst 8.2 i have noted that support for crossfire has been disabled. I am not sure what's going on here but i am not a fan of it. If anyone can help me figure out how to enable crossfire on catalyst 8.2 i will be entirely greatful. thanks! ~shadow

First thing is to make sure your removed the old driver all the way. This requires uninstalling then restarting in safe mode. In safe mode run a program that removes driver traces such as Driver Cleaner. This removes all traces of a driver package. Then boot back into windows and install the new ones.

I would start there first. Also make sure your two crossfire bridges are installed correctly.
