Remember that all Power supplies arent created equal, some say 350 or even 500 watts and probably put out less than 1/2 of that. (the importance of using a VERY GOOD PS from the beginning) Thats why companies mention the elevated spec.

The cool thing about the 8600GTs is DDR3 uses less power than DDR2, less power means less heat as well.
