Case selection - Page 2

You may be able to pick up a Silverstone TJ-05 case like mine on the cheap, theyve been around a while, I prefer the Black to Silver..

has 4 CD-Rom bays, 5 sideways mounted HDD rack below the CD-ROM bays,
has 12cm fans front and rear with 3 80mm spaces, 2 of those can be hdd mounts instead, side mounted audio and usb/firewire

heres a piccy or 2....

The sideways mounted bays are behind the maxtor drive, the connectors are easily accessed.

They look like beautifully finished cases, but they are too expensive.

Thanks that's a nice case. It's down to that and the CM690.

...but for space/performance you can't beat this Chieftec case :

How about a Chenming full tower? They're ridiculously huge Full Tower cases that can easily be painted and modded. Plus, they're cheap.

http://www.directron.com/901assi0.html

Just spray paint it silver or black with heat resistent spray paint, and you're golden. You will never run out of space in that. Plus, you can make it a first mod if you're interested in that. I might buy one over the summer and cut a window, paint it, maybe some watercooling. Who knows?

Kennymester (A member here), bought a Chenming and completely modded it. He called it "Chemx480". You could probably find the thread somewhere here. It looks awesome.

Word. I can't stand people that hate on Lian Li's. My little case is the best $80 you can spend.

It's kinda like the Chieftec case I posted above. They would be great for watercooling as you say. I don't know. I would like a case like that, I will have to think now that I have a few models in mind.

The Chieftec and Chemning are almost the same case, except for the front. You didn't link to the Chieftec, so I don't know the price. I would just go without whichever was cheaper after shipping, then paint it myself.
