p5n-e problems (I think)

Thread Starter
Every now and then when playing games or watching video my computer freezes (screen doesn't change, no mouse movement, etc...). It seems completely random to me as it doesn't do it during something graphically intensive, even when I'm not overclocking. I suspect the ram is the problem but it could easily be the video card, and I'm not sure where to start. I did use timings posted on the G.Skill board for my ram, and tried putting sticks into both yellow and black slots.

Any help appreciated.

Specs:
Asus p5n-e sli
2x1GB G.Skill HZ 800 MHz
Core 2 Duo e6600
GeForce 7600GT 256 MB video card

did you manually set your ram timing and voltage? that is very crucial with this board

make sure RAM is also set to 2T, not 1T. Does G.Skill specifically say your RAM chips have been tested in this board?

Yes I did set the timings manually with this guide: http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/.../t-132494.html

And my ram is set to 2T.

When I upped NB voltage to 1.4 I bluescreened (page fault) and the CPU monitor widget in Vista kept crashing. This happened twice until I reset it back to 'Auto' I'll try 1.56 next.

EDIT: should I only up the NB voltage, or do I have to change the VCore and other stuff as well? Sorry, I'm pretty noob.
