MSI 8800gt copper pipes to noisey?

i am wondering is my new card is any quieter/noisier than the stock and what quiet coolers for these cards where out there.

OMG...I'm getting that card too broski...it'll be interesting to see the performance and/or noise difference...I havent heard much about it.

I would assume this cooler may be quieter than the stock cooler. This is going by looks only tho.

From the reviews of the nVidia reference cooling solution a jet engine should be quieter. It's hard to give you an accurate idea of what one fan is compared to the other in decibles unless there is a review comparing both coolers by using some sort of measuring equipment.

I hate the new designs for the G92 cards. I'm just not a big fan of squirrel cage fans.

The card you've linked to would probably be more quiet and more efficient. It reminds me of the 7900GTX cooler design.

Side note: You know who had it right though? Arctic Cooling. The NV5 Rev.1(can't recall the exact model no.) I had on my 7800 was the bees knees.

agree.my buddy's xfx 8800GT won't let his neighbors sleep during the night,not exaggerating but maybe because we live in a hostel.

it looks better and quieter than the normal reference cooler that XFX and EVGA have, but don't expect any miracles

yeah it does look pretty slick, hopefully with the window mounted 90mm fan i have running directly over the card should help the fan from having to run really high. hopefully.
and the copper pipers match my big typhoonlol
