New Build - Econo

Thread Starter
Alright,
I'm making a computer for my room but that means my parents don't pay for it this time

I'm looking to spend a MAXIMUM (cheap as possible here) of 700$ on the hardware alone (IE: Not including monitor, mouse, etc.) and I am also OK with buying stuff from the for sale forums here...

I really don't even know where to start, a little push would be nice, but it is for gaming/homework (the usual) I'm shooting for CoD4 High... or at least Med/High... any help would be greatly appreciated

What I have so far(may have left something out):

DvD/CD Drive:
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 7200 320GB SATA NCQ 3.0Gb/s
PowerSup:Antec Power Supply EA-500 500W ATX12V V2.0 PSU 80mm Fan 80PLUS ROHS
Case:
GC: Galaxy GeForce 8800GT Chipset (600Mhz) 512MB DDR3 (1800Mhz)
MoBo: MSI P35 Neo Socket 775 Intel P35 ICH9 Chipset Dual-Channel DDR2 667/800/1066 8-Channel HD Audio
CPU: Intel Pentium Dual Core E2180 @ 2gHz (minor clock later)
Memory: OCZ DDR2 800MHz 2-2GB
Sound Card(not a big deal... not needed):

Thanks Guys, hopefully I can pull this off, remember I'm trying to be UNDER 700 not just over.... or right on... Under

Price List:
CPU: $87.99
HDD: $87.99
GC: $199.99
MoBo: $94.99
PS: $72.99
RAM: $29.99 - $60.00
TOTAL SO FAR: $573.94 - $603.95

newegg wont do canada? that sucks for you man...

go with an intel e21x0, the gigabyte mobo mentioned above, and the 8800gs also mentioned above.

Memory, if you're not overclocking a lot, just go for the cheapest.
again, if not overclocking keep stop cooler.

EDIT: Oh, before I go, how is clocking on Dual Cores? went straight from a P4 to a Core 2...

The Pentium Dual Core is exactly the same as overclocking a Core 2 Duo, just that you don't have to worry about your FSB as much, with it only being 200mhz instead of 333mhz, by the time you get to your CPU's max speed you probably havn't broken 360mhz

1st post updated, thanks again penicilyn, though still pondering the case & changed HDD to be more economically friendly ^^ (I don't need 500gb)

that RAM would have been nice, but thanks to paypal I won't be getting a mail in rebate with it, so I'm going to keep an eye out for other rebates on other ram that are just as good...

again, if anyone can make this build cheaper, thats good, I think I might even have an extra HDD laying around so that can be voided if I'm lucky ^^

EDIT: Woah, NCIX has a 9600 for 179.99 O.o
http://www.ncix.com/products/index.p...nufacture=eVGA

omg NCIX... -_- Lanparty... http://www.ncix.com/products/index.p...anufacture=DFI
Has instant rebate offer of 30.00
