Second Quarter of this year will see nVidia’s next generation nForce 790i chipset.
This new chipset will use nVidia’s C73 northbridge and MCP55 southbridge and hence will support Intel Processor with FSB up to 1600MHz.

Other features offered by chipset include 3-way SLI, Hybrid SLI and support for DDR3 memory. nVidia will release this as a high-end option, thus it will attract serious gamers who don’t mind spending extra bucks on latest technology

. This chipset will be out in two versions, nForce 790i Ultra SLI and nForce 790i SLI. Ultra SLI will come with better overclocking options and will support SLI memory up to DDR3 2000, other than that there is no difference between these two.

Most of the motherboard makers have decided to stop (or atleast delay) development of motherboards based on recently launched Intel-based nForce 780i chipset. It has not performed well in the market as there are no significant feature improvements over the previous nForce 680i.

They should just stick a copper cooler over it.

It's just a reference board, I am sure the actual manufacturers will put different cooling on it.

EVGA and XFX will keep the reference design; they are the companies that most people buy from. Asus will some how mess it up like they did with the 680i and 780i.

That's just to give you a general idea on the board.

That's the same fan on the LT 680i's. I actually have one on my board. Its not very loud, but it sucks at cooling.
