Vista DVD burning problems

Thread Starter
Hey guys, this thread could probably go 1 of 3 places so im putting it here... I recently installed from scratch Windows Vista Ultimate 64 bit, before on XP my dvd burner was working perfectly fine. Now tho, every burning program I try (atleast 2 i KNOW work well with vista 64) locks up on me when I try to burn a dvd. I finally got Roxio Easy Media Creator 10 burn a dvd for me, but it says my max burn rate is 1.0x, and it wont let me put it any faster! Which obviously really sucks. I'm not sure If i need a driver or what for my dvd rom, i havent had to do that in a reallly long time, and I can't seem to find them for my dvd rom any way. Im using a Samsung burner, the model number is SH-S183L, and heres a link to the exact one i bought on newegg. If you guys can help at all, or point me to some drivers or something it would be MUCH appreciated, thanks!

Device manager, as admin > your cd/dvd drive > right click > properties > DVD region (tab) > set for your area > Driver tab > update drivers > automatic internet update.

If no luck, check the manufacturer website for better drivers.
