COD1 (ONE) patch question

Thread Starter
Buddy of mine is playing COD1 and it has not been patched at all. Well he wanted to patch it to 1.5 but is on the last campaign (Russians) on the hardest level and was afraid if he patched it he would not be able to use his currently saved game. I know some patches will mess with previous saves and some dont.

I can find any info on if it will or not. Anyone remember? Or anyone know where i can find it?

Why not just finish the game and then patch it? If it's ran fine this far, why risk it.

Thats what he is willing to do, but he sees me play COD$ online and he wants to play COD1 United Offensive online. I told him it was a blast. More fun to me than COD4 online. When he tries to install the UO expac it tries to auto update the original game.

If he needs to wait, cool.

An easy workaround is Copy the save game folder (or entire folder) to somewhere else on the hard drive, then patch the game. If all goes well, copy the save games back into the folder. You might be able to just run to separate copies of COD, I don't think q3 engine games are that picky about the registry.

OK man, may try that if no one can confirm.
