"The_Duke" has "NOT" abandoned folding.

Gotcha YA
The_Duke has been temporarily taken off line, I'm switching over to my other name of "Just_Be_Cause" for Team Just Be Cause and using that name for that endeavor.

The_Duke 37726 will return soon as a small folding farm
In the beginning it will consist of ...
1. An 939 X2 4200+ @ who knows, not a great OCing MB.
2. An 939 Opty 165 @ about 2.9G (DFI SLI-DR)
2. An 939 Opty 165 @ who knows, the MB also isn't a great OCer
3. A Q6600, MB is still under consideration. (Dark Side folder due to AMD Quads are to far down the road )

Then, I'll sell off some of the 939 stuff to upgrade

I use to fold but stopped as IMO many pple lost sight of why they are folding. My mother has a nerve decease called Neropathy and is slowly and painfully becoming paralyzed. And about a month ago I seen a post regarding folding and how OCN started to loose ground in points. At that point I said to myself why are we folding, for points or for a cure. I remember the slogan "Folding for a cure" but come on guy stop fooling everyone and just say folding for enough points to make first place. Yeah I get it that the points may be incentive or whatever, but shouldn't folding for a cure be incentive enough. A year ago an OCN member that I use to play BF2142 with got a new X1900XT and started folding, I said to him why fold on your VC, he says you get points faster, I say point what about folding for a cure, and this guys said to me, "Who cares about a cure". I was appalled at this and stopped folding altogether.

Duke in no way am I referring to you by any means, I guess I just wanted to say to everyone that read this post please ppl don't loose sight of why we fold. It's not about your score it's about what you can do with your free clock cycles. Duke good luck my man and keep on folding.

Darnit Duke I just read your sig and it is not about what place we are in...24th, 56, 300, doesn't matter man. Fold for a cure not just because, you are right that everyone is important but not so we make it to first place. I really don't know what to say besides that.

If I cared only about points I'd quit the Just Be Cause team and take all my efforts to one name.
Points is a reflection of ones effort, be it big or small its all helpful, it's all about contributing to Fold to find a cure no mater how you spell it out!

Just because of one persons comment, you stopped folding even though you know its for a good cause? Yes the points are an incentive. If people want to believe more in the points than the cure, so be it, at least they are still folding. The vast majority of people do it for the cure or at least the research but the points makes everyone try alittle harder i.e. higher overclocks, more upgrades, buy more computers, etc. Whatever their reason for folding is, just remember they are folding so it helps the research. Just my .02 cents

I would of bet $100 you'd be the first to stick that in my post
Are you happy now?
BTW |V| there is AMD Inside all current Intel 32/64 bit CPUs so there

Villainstone. please reconsider the big picture
I did when I bought the Q6600 today. I even wen to the Dark Side for the efficiency so I'll use less power to perform the folding. If that isn't folding for the cause "a cure" then what is?

Well you are a bit right on about that. When he (I wont say his name) said that to me I was broken inside and kinda just lost hope you know what I mean. I wasn't ranting or flaming anyone, sorry if I seemed to. And Duke you are right as long as we are folding then who care why right. Well TBH I care, not that it matters. I guess I am just being blockheaded and pessimistic in a sense. I just feel that it should ONLY be about a cure and not points at all. On the other hand like you guys said, as long as they are folding. I am really sorry guys if I came off wrong my intentions were in the right place. I just get upset from time to time about this and just have to say what is on my mind. Keep on folding guys ,fold, fold, fold for a cure.

Duke I bow to your humble thoughts and apologize.
