Ram Reliability Survey

Thread Starter
OK, I'm going to try to collect some data on the reliability of the ram we use in this forum. Once I get enough feedback, I'll organize the data and report my findings.

This idea was prompted by the suggestion that the Crucial Ballistix memory seems to have been failing at a high rate. I know it's popular on this board so I was wondering if that popularity was why we were seeing so many reports of failures, or whether the ram is actually failing at a higher rate than competitors. To get to the bottom of this, I am asking for the following information from anyone on this board:

The brand of ram you are using, the model, the speed of the ram, whether you have overclocked it in any way (speed, timings, or volts), how many modules you have had, and how many have failed. In order to keep this relevant to ram we may be buying, I'm only looking for this information on ram purchased within the last year. Thus, this is what I'm looking for:

Brand -
Model -
Speed -
Overclocked -
Modules -
Failed Modules -

Just wanted to comment, Crucial is now using single sided modules that do not overclock well at all. I expect to see a large movement away from Crucial because of this.

hhmm, curious myself as I read and thought that also in the other thread. I must say I'm not too impressed with Crucials latest offerings and was wondering how the 8500's were doing. + rep maestro
