I have not found my limits, ill try dropping my Processor, and try to run a higher HT, but im not sure how much it will help...

noob question, what does the HT do with the CPU?

xxhaloownerxx, it's been said that AM2 processors overclock well with an HT speed between 1200 and 1400mhz. Right now your sitting at 1050HT, that is why I suggested you give that a try. Dropping your processor multiplier and raising your HTT (fsb) would raise your HT.

Good luck

ahh, i see, i shall try to see if my motherboard will allow that *looks at previous AMD 5200+ users cpuz's* If this is my problem, i shall be happy, and feel excited XD

doitallman, whats your HT link? if you dont mind.

Edit: uh, i tried to raise my HT, however i could find no HT mutiplyer, only the same multiplyer i have been using to raise my CPU Clock...

The HT multiplier on my MB's bios is called the LDT it had settings from 1000hz down to about 200hz i think.. that's the x5 to x1 multi..

If your looking to drastically overclocking the windsor to over 3Ghz, i'd get some better case cooling, as my northbridge kept crashing my system.. my ram also makes it a problem for me to overclock too much. (or maybe i'm getting a bigger overclock coz my ram's poop...?)

But if i run anything like my 'stable-ish' overclock for any kind of tests too stressing, it fails big time.

Good luck with more speeds.. keep us posted!

Oh and doitallman, how is the bigwater working for you? im considering buying the bigwater 760i, but i want to hear from someone else who has used thermaltake.
I want to know this too... i want to get the 745i, but havent found any ace reviews i can read... i want water cooling and just want to get the kit.

p.s. if i run a 3.4Ghz o'c.. does this mean i'm getting a 6800+?

Hey guys, thanks, but i think there might be something wrong with my computer in general....

i booted up halo 2 to play some, about 5 mins into the game, my screen started to distort colors, and such, and continued even when i closed the game, i set my clocks back to the orginal settings, and it works fine..

i have no idea whats wrong with my computer, but its messed up...

i think ill stick to stock untill i get like a 6000+ black edition.

but you guys have been really helpful thanks.

xxhaloownerxx, that almost sounds like some artifacting was occurring with your video card due to heat or improper mounting of the cooler. Was it just your processor overclock that you set back to "original"?

Good luck

you know what, you might be right about that... my 8600GTS is overclocked to 780Mhz, the highest i could possibly get it without a V mod... but i do have a after market cooler, it stays idle at 45, and maxes out around 60.... i may do more test....

i might try to put the clock down some more, but ive never had this problem before...

and yes, i set all of my clocks, CPU, GPU Memory to the orginal stock clocks...

how would i exactly check for artifacting, i know riva tuner isnt to good at detecting that -.-

Sorry mate but I believe that your incorrect. I have the 6400+ retail version (not the Black Edition) and it has an unlocked multi. I know cause I changed the multi to overclock my ram better.

BTW, Window Vistas little rate my computer thingy is dumb. It scores your computer by the lowest score any of your pc parts get. Example, if you score 5.0 on everything and get a 2.1 on lets say your hard drive then your score is 2.1. The max you can get is 5.0 according to microsoft. I got a 4.1 because my Hard Drive score was 4.1.
