Can you go back to the drvie under Disk Management and right click and format the drive with the NTFS system?

I had a problem with a HDD once. It wouldnt format at all in Vista, so I rebooted with an XP install disk in, then formatted the drive in XP (disconect your raptor so you dont accidently format it!). Then shut it down. Restarted, and The OS recognized it.

Yeah, all that was needed was to right click the drive in disk management and click format...I'm doing it right now actually. It should format in a little while, and you should be done...I think some of the other people posting here were a little confused
