Best way to cool AMD 5000+ BE

Thread Starter
OK so as you may have guessed, I just upgraded to the 5000+.

My Arctic Cooling Freezer 64 pro just isnt cutting it now. I plan to OC to around 3.7 on AIR. At 3.3 it's already hitting 63c at max load. Max temp of my CPU is 72. Room temp is about 65-70f

After reading some reviews and choosing with Price, Performance and Size in mind, I think I have a winner.

I'm thinking about the XIGMATEK HDTSE-S1283 (Scorpion) and possibly changing the stock fan to the SilenX iXtrema Pro 120mm

What do you guys think? And Is there a better configuration that you guys think I should consider for about the same price? Also what are the possibilities of Keeping the AC 64 pro and just adding the SilenX iXtrema Pro 120mm? Must have a 4pin fan.

Food for thought.

Eurgh, what a horrible cooler =S

Go with the Zalman 9700, i plan on getting one, looks brilliant, quality is amazing, looks like its had a good machine lapped base, very good at keeping temperatures low and best of all...Very easy to install on an AMD Motherboard ^^ [A clip just screws into the top of the base then it clips in as usual]

I can do 3.6-3.7... its even undershooting

http://www.ripping.org/database.php?cpuid=546

And for hs, I dont have a whole lot of room and i'm going by the cooling chart of the
CPU Cooler Charts 2008

http://www.tomshardware.com/2008/02/20/cpu_cooler_charts_2008/page17.html

comparing that review and this one http://www.frostytech.com/articlevie...id=2233&page=5

It's a toss up between Xigmatek HDT-S1283
and the

Watercooling

And wha?

I havnt heard of a CPU being stable much past 3.45Ghz...Or maybe they are just voltage cowards

I'm calling you out on this claim. Show me a 32m SuperPi or even a 3DMark06 at that speed and I'll eat my shorts.
