Well in regards to your first post, I'd say it's a simple matter of popularity. It's a general rule that the more popular something gets the worse the community becomes. The DODS community is only a fraction of the size of CSS (here in Australia it's 50 servers to 400).

He has no choice but to "camp" (in a pub with players who won't listen, anyway)

Rushing and being Rambo aren't exactly the same. Rushing needs to be done sometimes to beat the enemy to a point or deploy a strategy. A Rambo just runs anywhere and aims for the head. If you can't see the game as anything more than "rushing and camping" then I don't think you understand it enough to criticize it.
That doesnt sound like something a Rambo would do. A Rambo wouldnt run anywhere and aim for headshots.

I know CS:S isnt just about rushing or camping, theres more to it. I would know because I played it since its creation. I said the players are the ones that make a game of camp or rush.

Fyi, de_dust is a terrible map. It's hideously ct-sided, don't even bring it up when you talk about CS:S please Of course camping is going go nuts on it, because there are only 2 places for the T's to go, and both are easily watched with awps. Makes it very difficult to get by, and it requires a lot of smokes, flashes, and teamwork that won't happen in a pub (generally).

Also, I've never seen a decent player who didn't use flashes. Nades become such an integral part of the game when you start to play on a higher level. In pubs people use them in ridiculous ways just to get easy kills, but those are noobs killing other noobs. You cant play competitively against competent people without using nades. Generally, if you can't afford a full buy in a match, you'll buy nades before you buy armor or a gun - that's how important they are.

ok, I'll admit I didn't read every post because many of them were arguments.

First it comes down to personal prefrence. (swiftwesel dosn't spell check, and I'm drinking. Sorry)

Second you have to account for actual numbers of people playing each game. I'm certain that there is many more playing CSS. More players increases the odds of more idiots.

Third play on a decent server. If its a pub, find a decent one where admins ban d-bags. Or scrim with friends, and weed out the 12 year old teams with inmature kids.

Fourth, I've played a ton of DODS, ran a server, TF2, ran a server, COD4, still part of a server, but the CSS server that I help run has been around since just after beta, and still running strong.

I may take breaks from CSS, but always end up going back to it.

But like you said, it all comes down to personal preference. You can't just make blanket statements like x>y. Unless you're in algebra class
