[engadget] Amazing Skyfire phone browser - Page 2

Thread Starter
haha well then this thread clearly wasn't for you.

i for one, do tons of business via my phone in the form of email, (some texting of course, more for friends though), phone calls, etc. plus traveling a lot as a musician makes the internet available to me 24/7. VERY useful. and who wouldnt mind pulling up a youtube video for a friend when you're hanging out or something, and wanted to show them?

its the future.

This is why I love my RAZR.

When I tell people what I use they go "oh, that's too bad" because it doesn't do web browsing, or have a full keyboard. But it has everything I want, a phone, a clock and texting. It's tiny, sleek, black (<3) and with the Aluminum casing, it's survived me falling off my bike and landing on it.

I'm not one who cares about web browsing on my phone, and mike, I know there are others like us.

: phew :

I've got the Samsung version of the Razr...can't remember the model name though. It's nice and small and slips in and out of my pocket with ease. Wouldnt ask for more from a phone.

I'm not hating though. I think phones like the iphone are cool as hell, I would just never own one out of personal preference.

You've clearly never used a program like this or Opera Mobile/Mini, it's sweet. I never thought I'd use my phone as a web browser because the built in browser sucks, but with a third party browser installed it's a whole different ball game.

I wish Java and Flash would shake hands so I could see something like this for my J2ME phone. That's the one thing Opera Mini 4 is missing.

If you have AT&T you probably have "The SYNC", it's basicly the same as my phone, (The 737) Mine is just a shrunk down, updated, slider version. You would be surprised with the things you can do with a non-smart phone these days.

Meh.. Apple users are brainwashed.. they get you in the store and get you to buy one of their products.. then you're in shock for months because of the price, and all you can think about is the features they shoved in your head.

(not picking on anyone in particular there, just Apple )
yeah, seriously...i dont know how apple does it. i mean i've never seen anyone as BRAINWASHED about products as apple followers. like, i've run into people who say, ohhh the imac is sweet, or the ibook is great...or the iphone is the best. you ask for reasons why, and they can give you like...2 @ best. hitler and mussolini would have loved these guys...

You must be

Orb is the greatest thing in the world. Nothing like watching the tv from my htpc on my phone while I am sitting in class.

Yeah, I should stop doing that. But I won't!!

Also, if you have a windows mobile phone you can watch youtube videos, I do on my xv6800. That's the advantage to a windows mobile phone, it's the same as the advantage to a windows pc, there are enough people making programs for them that the possibilities are pretty much endless

The Safari browser on iPhones is no good, it wont play flash content for instance, not to mention the inherent problem of not being able to copy and paste text. Other than that however, the interface itself, pinch to zoom etc, is really nice.

Yeah, checking your email, looking up directions/phone numbers, getting online maps, checking the weather and traffic... Who cares about those things right?
