That is still to be decided. That's just rough ideas that I can put on paper so I can visualize it.

like i said in my last post, voip has so many nice feature's. you can have the receptionist transfer phone calls by using her coputer insted of remembering extensions, record calls for monitoring puposes. with the caller id you can have it bring up all of the clients records that are in your system and view their history; i.e. how many times they've called in the past and all of their past services. look to be storing around 1-2 mb a min if you record phone calls, be careful cuz it adds up.

very interesting so far, looks like your doing a fantastic job. keep it up

So, what I did last night was get my ass kicked. I was installing XEN to virtualize many servers on the one server to keep the services isolated from eachother for security reasons... got them installed, but then am having trouble getting networking working... i'v been at work too long, time to go home and sleep and try again tomorrow. w00t!

Today I made my first VOIP Call!

I have the first server, now named Talon, up and running with Asterisk Phone Sytem, as well as a DNS server. It goes something like this

Talon has Ubuntu installed, and is using a Xen kernel (Xen is used to support virtual machines, kinda like VMware)
... A virtual Machine called "ns1" was created for the nameserver
... A virtual Machine called "phone" was created to host the phone system

Its all up and running, just need to make more virtual machines and wait for the other server to link them together
