Sound Stopping and Skipping

Thread Starter
Im currently using the Extreme Gamer Sound Card and i get these random Skips and stops in music. It happens through Speakers and Headphones.

They dont occur regularly but just random

Ive reinstalled sound card drivers and ran driver cleaner pro also.

Could my Sound card be stuffed or faulty

Any help Appreciated

Thanks.

Does it happen when you are doing anything on your computer? Like playing games, etc.. or just when you are playing music. Also, is the music an MP3, or is it playing from your CD drive?

MY music is all MP3.

Most of the time its random .

It happened about 15 mins ago with Just Mozilla open .

It dosent really Skip it Stops more than anything waits 2 seconds then continues.

What player are you using to play these MP3's? It's possible it could be your sound card, but most hardware generally doesn't 'partially' fail.

I work on cell phones for verizon and if a phone isn't physically damaged, or water damaged, 99 percent of the problems were software related. We rarely have to open the phones up and fix them (again, unless your dropped it in the tub )

Any other variables you can provide would help trying to diagnose your problem.
Oh and if you haven't tried another music player (winamp, WMP etc.. try that)

Currently Using Foobar but it also did the samething on Windows Media Player.

I Unpluged my Front Panel audio from the sound card which i dont use atm.

Gonna see if that works.

As i said before its very very random ..

Could be a damaged file. I've had similar issues with a few mp3 and tried them on another machine where the same problem happened

You using wireless? I had a wireless USB network card that would make sound stutter randomly like you're describing.
