I think this is an outstanding board.

The pros:
1. I can OC the board to 515 FSB with 1.43v to the NB
2. Great bios features
3. Same PCB as the Maximus Formula. Just look under the printed P5E sticker on your board, Maximus Formula is silk screened under it!

cons:
1. Unlike the Maximus Formula, the P5E has no temp readouts for the chipset
2. Bios is not easily back flashable (I think thats how you would say it). As of now, you need to use a certain version of their windows based flashing program . The program doesnt work in Vista 64 either!

A couple of us have put together a decent thread on the P5E /Maximus board. The link is in my sig below.

My best friend's brother runs the P5e, and loves it, even though we had a time setting the darn thing up with his CD drives, etc. The BIOS is very, very, very user friendly.

And it DOES show CPU temp, etc.

I use the 780i myself, and love it.

ericoed has helped me OC with my board, its simply fantastic. It even detected my 2.2v ram at that voltage, as well as works with my intel xeon which was OCed with no trouble whatsoever (sp?). highly recommended...
