I used to have a quad core at 3.2 and dual 7900 GTX's in SLI and I could hit a hair over 12,000 on 3dmark06 just FYI (I've since shifted to an 8 series).

so adding 1 more video card will increase my score to double? so is overclocking the core and memory good enough? or do i need to put some volts thru it. some one help
post #9 of 14
you cant put more volts to it unless you Vmod it.
rivatuner is very easy to use
heres a quicky

1.open rivatuner
2.got to "driver settings"
3.click customize (when you point your cursor it will turn into a HAND)
4.inside customize click system settings
5.under "Overclocking" click the box "enable driver-level overclocking"
6.then move the bars in 10-15 increments
6.click the test button
7.click the box apply settings at start up

run 3dmark06 to check to artifact and also use atitool to scan for artifacts.
make sure to check your temps

There is a guide someone wrote about Rivatuner I found on Google, and you can create "profiles" for overclocking, fanspeed, etc. There is an option to "apply OC settings on startup" on Rivatuner, but it does not work for me. However, when you create a overclocking profile, you basically configure an OC, save it, and add it to your Launcher option in Rivatuner. When you minimize Rivatuner, you can right click the tray icon and can click on your OC setting.

I find this very useful for me...makes sense because I don't always play games...only takes 3 seconds and 2 clicks to OC.

You can also set fan speeds so that they adjust automatically.

Lemmie go browsing..
