Remember the scores on Crysis are highly subjective to what CPU they used.

They used 2xAA in their test, did you? I don't see any need for AA at all in crysis.

The X38 chipset came out long before CrossfireX, and I have not heard of any BIOS updates that allow the X38 to handle 4 GPUs.

CrossfireX includes CF with 3850x3870, right?
Anyhow, I read that AMD is giving Intel the green light to include CrossfireX technology in their chipsets, so they'll release a board with 4 PCI-E slots with the X38/48 I imagine.

According to Anandtech, you cannot. Seems like only RV670s for CF X.

Quote:
The rules for CrossFireX are simple: you can make any combination of up to 4 RV670 based GPUs, using either Radeon HD 3850s, 3870s or 3870 X2s. Note that the upper limit is two Radeon HD 3870 X2 cards (4 GPUs).
