I don't know about you but i think them giving nVidia some of their GPU tech was their biggest mistake ever.

just means no nVIdia chipsets on the new intel platform.
which means no SLI(intel side atleast) unless nVidia wants to give into Intel

you know what? I'm siding with Intel on this, with any luck, it will result in SLI, crossfire, etc. all being multi chipset compatible without any of this BS nVIdia is trying to push.

If this is true, Nvidia will fold and release SLI for all. Could you imagine how Nforce sales would go if they didn't work on Intel. Heh

I love how these companies play together lol. You would think that they would try and give each other a bit of a hand, and allow for info sharing. Intel gets SLI, and Nvidia gets CSI what ever that is. Can't get something for nothing I always say.

I could imagine if it got really ugly, Intel would stop allowing Nvidia to support their CPU's. At that point Nvidia would either have to support AMD/ATI CPU's or focus only on VC'c.

I think Intel is playing hard ball to get the SLI licence. Intel knows that they can sell more chipsets on boards if it had the SLI licence. How many Intel users would rather have an Intel chipset than an nForce as the Intel generally OC better.

Yes but in all honesty the only thing nForce has going for it in the first place is SLI. Without it there isn't much reason to not go with AMD or Intel boards.

Yeah, but more people are just going to go with CrossFire (which is just as fast as SLI now a days) because they are not going to forfeit their Core 2.

Isn't XF faster on Vista compared to SLI? That wasn't a fan boy post or an attack at Nvidia, just asking

Like others have stated, all Nforce have over Intel chipsets is SLI. I can see why they are so reluctant to keep a tight leash on it. But then you also have to compromise if you want something in return.

You don't make someone your enemy then 3 weeks later ask them for a critical bit of programming, it just doesn't work like that

Either way Nvidia lose tbh. They either give up SLI licensing and lose Nforce sales, or they keep it and try and live without CSI.

Nvidia should play it smart... Giving Intel SLi will prolly decrease their nforce sales but it will absolutley increase their card sales!
