ehhi had both 5.1 and 5.1 headphones... doesnt compare to regular 5.1, i like it better then stereo for gaming with headphones. also it makes me feel "crowded"

I have a pair of Tritton AXPC headphones and I love them. Just make sure when you buy your set (if you do), get true 5.1 and not virtual. I got a pair of virtual 5.1 (Platronics Audio 770) and ended up taking them back because the virtual 5.1 sound was hit and miss in my games. Now these Tritton AXPC true 5.1 souround sound headset, I really like. I dont know what games you play but Ive been playing a lot of CSS, UT3, Q4 and COD4 and they sound great in all those. I got mine on newegg for about $60 and have seen a review where they are pretty much a repackaged version of the Medusa 5.1 headset.

According to what I've read (as in not my experience), X-Fi's EAX + stereo headphones > 5.1 channel headphones.

Definitely, mine aren't really even properly amped and the bass is amazing.

So that CMSS-3D thing isn't a gimmick? I read about it on the Creative site and it sounded like hype.

I would think the 5.1 headphones would be a good option. I have several high quality headphones (stereo) and they sound great but there is no positioning in game. I'm working on getting a pair for myself for gaming

CMSS-3D is an excellent system that really works very well with a good set of stereo headphones.
