Okay what I did to solve my issue was go to the INtel site and DL the Floppy (F6) drivers you might normally use to install XP on a RAID array. I put these on a thumb dirve. I then "Loaded Drivers" when installing Vista and it worked!!
I have installed Vista on a number of RAID aras and never had to provide a driver.
This is for the Intel (Marvell) SATA controller not J Micron.
Thnanks for all the help and ideas guys. I had a god friend visiting and he helped me too...for two day.. nothing.
Then I got a brainfart to look at the Ontel site to see if there were any RAID drivers for XP just n a hunch. These drivers are not included on the installation CD...so when I previously inserted the CD during install to load drivers Vista did not find anything.
I still have some vexing issues though. I cannot play my favorit game: DiRT. It simply will nto run. I have a bought and paid-for game and have to run a no CD crack to get it to play in Vista...sad. Codemaster's SUCK.
Cannot get it to play in XP or Vista...despite having it running fine on the P5K/8800GT. I took the CF issue out of the equation by using an Nvidia card and still nothing...it blows.
Until I get a decent Benchmark I am not posting any rsults...I feel it is unfair t do so until the board has been optimized.
I will say this: It runs CineBench R 10 petty fast.
I ordered another HD3870X2 since I don't think I will be abl to pry they one out of Mistress Quickly
without creating a rift in our Family Structure
And Ian still has my other one fitting it for a watrbock...rather than get up his snout Pming every hour about progress I just bought another one...I wonder if I could run three of them?
Anyway I am still working on this rig trying to get it uj to par...at last I can use it fr Wb Browsing at this point...
