Yep I am aware of Fugger's test data. Without a triple stage phase you are not going to approach the performance of a typical X38 QX9650 platform. And even phased you still need to run very high clocks to keep up.

Dual Processor boards have never been really overclockable...there is a simple BESL mod that makes the mobo perceive the CPU as a higher FSB and therefore OC it...but no real BIOS options like a traditional board.

The Skulltrail is appealing to me becasue it will let me run two OverClocked quads. Since I would like to keep in the Fold and need to scale back my Farm a Dual Processor motherboard is a good fit.

Sacriledge I know...running a Ferrari on low compression and Regular

I've thought about using a SuperMicro 5XXX but I just gotta OverClock my rigs

No doubt to really shine a pair of QX9775 and 4 GFX would be the ticket. Not going to go there...unless someone wants to provide the GFX just for a bench session.

I heard the Kingston should be out in about a month. Hence the super inexpensive DDR2 Transcend. Fast RAM would no doubt improve my Folding performance. But I will OC the Transcend as far as possible too..so it'll be interesting to see which is really better.

The bottom line I think is that the QX9650 GA-X38 DQ-6 with a pair of HD3870X2 will outperform the the paired E5420 D5400XS and HD3870X2s. I'll be sure to bench and compare them with single cards and (when drivers arrive) CF.

Well considering the interest in this platform by well-heeled enthusiasts I hope to draw some attention to my business outside the Forum. Of course DangerDen already has two Skulltrail rigs on display and Falcon Northwest and the usual suspects have been promoting their Skulltrail builds for a month...

I am late to the game...and a small fish in a big ocean...but you gotta Dream Big or you will never get anywhere.

Yes sir.

Do you go to conventions at all? If you don't i would suggest it.

It will help with building ties with other companies, you get their name out , they get your name out. It's a way of getting bigger fastAA

You know... thank god they couldn't overclock that computer in superman 3.
But if I see Richard Pryor posting, asking questions about skulltrail, I'm gonna be a bit suspicious.
LN2 in a desert would be pretty taxing though.
