I got a Q6600, and Artic Silver 5 paste... how much do i put on when fitting my cooler ontop of my cpu... anyone got any pics, youtube link maybe, anything

i usually do about the size of a pea right in the middle. If you REALLY need a visualization...grab a pea and hold it next to it while you squeeze it out

I do about the size of a ball bearing, maybe 2 bb's. Id go no larger than a pea though, as it squishes out to be quite alot.

I usually put a ball of it slightly smaller than a pea right in the middle, then smash it w/ the cooler and make sure it spreads evenly. My temps are always ice cold.

^Gonna try a straight line down the middle next time, as I have always done a pea size amount.

Ive done both, multiple times with as5 and shin etsu, line down the middle wins by atleats 1C every time

I usually do it about the size of a bb in the middle.

This time I put about a drop the size of a bb and used a plastic bag on my finger to spread it out. My core temps are all about the same now. Before I had the first 2 cores being UP TO 10C more than the other 2.

I think a Pea is WAY TO BIG. I prefer a very small amount. Like the size of a BB.
