best stress test

Thread Starter
when stressing in prime 95, do you just do the cpu torture test, or the blend? Is orthos better or worse than prime 95?

thats for you to decide, if your system is stable in desktop apps (not games) then it stable for you and not necessarily prime/orthos stable

orthis and prime95 are the exact same engine but orthos has a different GUI

for CPU do small FTT priorty 5

and for ram do memtest86 and orthos lare in place FTT

----

i run for 18+ hours

but it depends on i f it stable foor what you use

i like using prime95 because you only have to run 1 instance for the quads. i dont know if they have updated orthos, but you used to have to run 2 instances of orthos to stress test the quads. normally i will run small fft to stress the cpu, and use the blend to stress the whole system. for me to be completely comfortable with stability, i will stress test for 24 hours before i'm convinced that the o/c is completely stable. other people will say that 24 hours isn't neccessary but thats what i do!

Whenever I bump up an O/C, I spend three days testing to make sure it's rock solid.

24 Hours - MemTest
24 Hours - Prime95 SmallFFT
24 Hours - Prime95 Blend

If there's any problems then one of these tests will find it.
