[CPC] Coolermaster Updates Cosmos Chassis.

The aluminium Cosmos S cuts 3kg off the weight of the original Cosmos, and adds a vented mesh to the front.

Cooler Master has just updated its bizarre-looking Cosmos with the racy-looking S model, where the S stands for 'Sport.' Okay, we know that many PC gamers would rather eat a dog-food sandwich than do anything involving the word 'sport,' but the case looks like a vast improvement over its predecessor.

While the steel innards of the original Cosmos made the case weigh in at a back-straining 16.9kg, the aluminium-alloy Cosmos S is much lighter at 13.8kg. As well as this, the cooling system has been improved, with the whole front fascia being made from ventilated mesh.

The side panels also feature more mesh, and there's space in the top of the case for up to three fans to pull loads of air out of the top. Alternatively, Cooler Master also says that this would make a great home for a triple 120mm radiator. The case already comes with three 120mm fans too; one at the top, one at the rear and one at the front.

Cooler Master has stuck with a distinctive design, though, and claims that the Cosmos S was inspired by 'the sleek contours of the hottest dream race cars.' Whether you like its appearance is a matter of taste, but it certainly looks like it's got plenty of room for lots of kit.

The Cosmos S is available from Scan now.

The two cases perform different roles. The original is about Silence and out-of-your-way performance, while the new one is more Antec 900 like. Lots of cooling and drive bays.

It looks like a two in one. It has the sides of the stacker and the rest of the cosmos. I mean the Cosmos is kinf of loosing its originality. IMO do not like it!!!

So exactly how much is this sucker gonna be in dollars? It looks like it could be an absolute monster of a water case.

120.3 in the top would be amazing.

With a little modding you can fit a 120.3 in the old one's top, or do like I have and just have it sat on top where the exhaust shroud normally sits and let the existing fans blow air through it. Works great.

I will say that so long as this sucker is under 300 bucks, ill probably end up getting one. It is pretty much everything i could want in a case. So yeah, count me in.

mmm... the original case looks nicer, although, cooling can be a problem.
