Hello, I'd like to start off by saying thats a pretty nice guide. I just have one question and I know its probably the dumbest one you've heard yet!

I'm just ordered a Q6600 (Finally made up my mind) with G0 stepping, now while I'm lapping the CPU how much pressure should I be using? I don't want to mess anything to bad being this my first lapping job though I may just start out doing the HS considering its a new CPU and I don't even know how the pre-existing lap job will be so I'm not going to jump the gun. Would just like to have some general knowledge to go by in case I do end up lapping the CPU.

Thanks!

Not much pressure at all.And make sure to keep the black plastic cover on the CPU during lapping. If you haven't received it yet you'll know it when you see it.

I think I might know what you're talking about in regards to the cover, I've seen a picture of it before. Now when lapping the CPU should I alternate while doing my 30 reps or going one way, rotate 90 degrees and rinse and repeat?

Sorry for the questions, I'm sure you can't blame me for asking them though - especially when it deals with money

I'll be lapping my TT and Q6600 either tomorrow or Tuesday, hopefully I see some results at least close to what you got.

yup do the 30 reps to the same way, rotate and repeat, but dont rinse with anything, just blow or clean with something
