Push harder?

Thread Starter
I have my e6750 running at 3.2Ghz stable (upgrading ram at the moment too not sure which to do first) and at max when I push it the temperature only gets up to about 50C (according to both CoreTemp and SpeedFan) with only air-cooling. My cpu says it can go up to 70C. I don't want to get up that high for any reason and I really don't know what to do to try and run other types of cooling but is it ok to keep pushing it?

Currently my Rated FSB is 1600.1 Mhz
Core speed is 3200.1 Mhz x 8.0
The ram is only running at 400 Mhz at the moment (hopefully higher with my XP Mushkin's I'm putting in)
My mobo can handle higher I believe...should I push harder?

What kind of cooler do you have? If you are running some low-end cooler or the stock one, you could always upgrade. This way you could push it further and achieve the same temps.

If I'm not mistaken I believe CoreTemp and SpeedFan are not accurate on C2D. Use EVEREST Ultimate Edition as it seems to be accurate on my E6750

I'm currently using the Gigabyte G-Power Lite. Someone else recommended CoreTemp as long as TJ. Max was 100C. Not quite sure but both are bringing in nearly the exact same temps for the cores. I'll try the other one. I have 4 fans + the fan on the power supply.

wrong, CoreTemp is for Core2Duos

50c, is fine, 60c load is fine too on the g0 stepping, so push it a bit more. Just don't go over 1.5volts.
