did i damage my 6400? T_T

Thread Starter
well i was playing around with my settings and i was running 3.55GHz @ 1.54v (1.51-1.57 in windows), and it was orthos stable for 6 hours with max load temp of 58C (55C max on either of the cores during the time) so i figured it was pretty good.

So today i booted up and started to play some COD4, i played it for about 2 hours then the whole pc just crashed. No BSOD no nothing, it just shut off on me. I thought maybe it was the GPU so i lowered the OC on it and started playing COD again.

About an hour later it did the same thing again so i put my BIOS settings back to stock and went into windows. Put the GPU back to stock settings and opened COD again. BUT.....

now it says i have no profile and all of my savegames wont show up. I even copied my backed up profile/saves into the players folder and it wont pick them up. (but I tried creating a new profile and played a bit of the prologue, and it saves/loads fine) its just that my old profile wont work at all....

any idea? im completely lost lol

I dont think you damage your E6400. Its probably the instability that cause COD4 to go erratic. I suggest you try reinstalling COD4

could be because there was a write error to the saves, and itwon't read them. I had teh same type of problem with my raid. It would be fine at stock, and then I would try to OC (come to find out, one of m ram sticks is bad, and won't go past stock) the nvidia raid bios would give me an error. Causing write errors to happen.
