Okay to answer one person's question(can't remember the name), on ATi tool, I get 132 avg fps with both screens on, over 900 with just one, and I can run the thing for hours without getting artifacts. I have also tried running these games with just once screen on, and on each of my screens, no go.

Here's the GPU-Z screenie.... Every program I look at(atitool, rivatuner, nTune, and now GPU-Z) has all of the clocks correct(or at least, I think they are).

BigKriss... Thanx for the rep . I was wondering if I'd ever get my first haha.

I doubt it's a bottleneck, you could be bottlenecking a little but not enough to drop your fps that low.

Do you have a huge 24" plus screen or something?

Just like everybody else said, reinstall all your drivers. I wouldnt spend a single dime until I figured out what is actually wrong. Go to futuremark.com and download 3dmark 06 and run it then tell us your score.

Ya that score is way to low for a gtx.

It should be around 60-70 average
it cant be a cpu bottleneck, i have a similar problem too. with my system im getting around 50fps average at 1680 res, full AA, AF... not sure what the problem is...

(i see you have a GTS block on ur GTX? i remember they have an extra component to cool for the GTX that the GTS doesnt have...)

Hey gents,

Okay here's my 3DMark06 stats:

SM2.0; 2407
HDR/SM3.0: 2596
CPU: 2158

I have absolutely no idea what these scores mean, but the graphical programs they run in the tests are cool as hell. During the CPU test... I got I would guess an average of .86 frames per second(yes, I said .86, as in less than 1).

I do have a GTX water block on my GTX, I have a GTS block as well and it's a completely different type of architecture, I don't know because I haven't tried, but I doubt it would even fit. The GTX is a heck of a lot cooler with the water block on it in any case.

Thanks again everyone for the help! If someone could decode those 3Dmark scores, that would be awesome.

what resolution did you run the 3dmark06? 1280x1024 is the default setting.

your cpu score is fine though the sm2.0 and sm3.0 scores are quite low for a gtx and those framerates during the cpu test are perfectly fine.

Yeah something is up with your GPU, I just ran 3dmark just to get a worst case scenario from my comp with whatever was open at the time. I ran it with th following open AIM, 3dsmax 9, windows media player, x-fi creative console, steam, and firefox.

SM 2.0- 5098

HDR/SM3.0 - 4884

CPU- 4033

Your cpu score looks fine, i think my old 3600 x2 at 2.8ghz got a lesser score.

I had this problem arise with my GTX, I just ran cod4 one day and it was like ~20 fps on the shader heavy maps, hardly going over 50 at the best of times.

For me a complete reinstall of the graphics drivers (using Guru3D's driver sweeper) fixed it.
