Perf level and TRD, you NEED to know

Thread Starter
here is a very good read and something you NEED to know when overclocing your mobo.....basically TRD is the whole chipset latency and matters a hell of a lot

this is why the TRD setting is so important

read page 8: The Rules of Working with tRD: What's Allowed and What Isn't
http://www.anandtech.com/mb/showdoc.aspx?i=3208&p=8

and page 9: How to Choose an Appropriate Memory Configuration
http://www.anandtech.com/mb/showdoc.aspx?i=3208&p=9

I use TRD of 7 450FSB

Well I am still trying to take all that info in. I did find a tRD option in my BIOS, so I think I will start to tinker and see what I come up with.

FYI the results they report do NOT hold on an e6400 on the P5N-E (650i chipset). I benchmarked at tRD 5, 6, and 7 at several different CPU and memory frequencies, and not once did the tRD setting make any difference at all in read, write, or latency benchmarks in everest or in SuperPi 1M times.
