does a 10inch fan blowing the xbox 360 is enought?

hey guys, my xbox360 is out off warranty and im affraid of getting the RROD because i feel the air coming out the exhaust is hot like hell, even i have put it in good ventilated area and extra fans tgo blow more air near the HDD and on the other side, i play like 6-8 hours a day, so do you think that if i keep my xbox open and made the DVDrom external and putted a 10 inch fan to blow air on the cpu and the GPU from above; will i be living 100% without the RROD?, do you think a 10inch fan will be enough to make the hell colder?

hmm, well you could always mod a fan into the case being that your warranty is out but the best place to put a fan if its out of the case is on the bottom if your laying it horizontally. like 2 60mm fans would be a pretty good fit at the bottom as mentioned. theres no 100% guarantee that it wont get a RRod even with more than sufficient cooling.. but any added cooling should help.

All 360s have a 3 year warranty against the RROD now as far as I know, so you should be covered.

However doing what you said would void that warranty.

Also as far as I know, the RROD wasn't caused by heat in most cases, it was a defect with some hardware.

Surely blowing damn hot air out the back is good? Prooves that the fans are working at least, I have had my 360 since Augest 06 and its been fine without any extra cooling.

I have only ever had the RROD once which was because I forgot to plug the AV cable in when i got home from being round a mates house while we were having a LAN game.

do the math murlocke. 3 years + 2008 = 2011 OR when 360 successor comes. MS did this to try and cover 2 things: 1. still having loyal LIVE users and buying 360's. and 2. to have a warranty that holds people off until they realize a new xbox came out in 2011.

haha. possible solutions:
1. don't play 6-8 hours a day....
nope, can't think of any more.

I say Water Cooling. fosho.

The reason 360's get rrod is not a cooling issue. The problem is cheap ass bga solder joints under the cpu/gpu. So in other words it doesn't matter what kind of fans you use, once one of the joints breaks u get rrod...

Better cooling might play a better role, but it sure as hell won't prevent rrod 100%

Okay that is just ridiculous. Have you ever heard of a period? Seriously, nobody can take you seriously with all those commas... Let's not even talk about grammar. Spelling, punctuation, wording... Come on man, at least give some what of an attempt!
