You will likely hit 3GHz. You will, however, need a better heatsink than stock.

Those are good temperatures, but you'll still find it hard to overclock with stock cooling. And every chip is different so one 4000+ may overclock differently from another. But generally, I think that you probably won't hit 3GHz. Especially with stock cooling. With an aftermarket cooler you may get luck and get a little over 3GHz stable.

Then again, no way to know until you try it Good luck.

I got my 4000+X2 to 2.81 stable @ 1.35v on stock cooling no problem. I got to about 2.6 with stock volts. I really like this chip. Great budget chip thats also a great OCer.

I'm running @ 2.94Ghz right now. Pretty stable, haven't had a crash yet. Knock on wood.

I'm still seeing 38c under load.

I was trying for 3.0Ghz but my guess is the RAM just won't go. Someday I'll replace it.

Remove the 512, its killing your OC and negating the DC performance of the 2x1G. The small volume simply isn't worth it!

I tired that but to no end. All the RAM is the same just some mid range Kingston stuff.

Someday

I got my sisters up to 2.436ghz with stock cooling on a crappy ECS board that only allows a 232 max FSB.
A decent board should get you ~2.7 with stock cooling and voltage. Once you start upping the voltage, you should look into better CPU cooling.
