Frostmourne, nothing is ever guaranteed but I'm guessing you should be able to at least get a 600-700mhz OC out of it. Make sure to enable "High Performance" in the power management interface in Vista. Since your running the stock cooler, keep the vcore at stock and see how far you can go. Do you have any idea if it's a Windsor or Brisbane core? Sorry if this has already been mentioned.

Good luck man

2.7Ghz is within reason for that setup. You could also go with a Abit IP35-e and Intel e2180 to get a much faster set-up.

I was able to load Windows at 2.8GHz on stock voltage with mine, but to get it to pass a 24hour Orthos test I needed to drop it down to about 2.6-2.7GHz. If you get an aftermarket cooler for $20-40 you should get 2.8-3.1GHz out of it by giving it more vCore. CHeck the online deals section of this site, you might find a cheap cooler.

I have my 4200+X2 Rev.G2 working at 2.75GHz @ 1.4v working 100% stable. I can probably turn the volts down to 1.375v without any issue, but.... if you can.... why not give it that extra bit of juice to be safe

Having issues pressing the FSB above 250Mhz however. Has been quite puzzling. Am planning a post soon to put it up as a challenge to see if anyone has advice that will resolve it.

JBG84, is your 4200+ a brisbane or windsor? Post CPU-Z screenshots of your current OC and we'll try and help you. Have you tried applying any voltage to the chipset?

Hope this helps
