Worlds first Watercooled Phone. ;)

Thread Starter
So in one of my threads I said I would do it. And I am. The phone that will be watercooled, will be an old Motorola V710 from Verizon. If I can find tubing small enough, I will try to also create a loop around the earpiece. This is for when the earpiece gets hot from talking on it so long.

The thing won't be really be used as the water resevoir still hasn't been decided upon and may be gorilla glued to the battery backplate. heh. I'm working on it as we speak but this is turning out harder then I thought.
I may have to take it into work where I have better access to tools to finish a few parts of the project. Not sure though.
Oh and for those who don't know, I'm a cell technician for verizon so this should be a fun project.

There is no real purpose here other then, just to be the first one to ever do it.
(No, dropping your phone into the toilet at a bar, or a snowbank counts)

Anyways, just wanted to let ya know I'm still going ahead with the project. The pictures I'm sure, will be hilarious.

I will be posting results and pictures in this thread for anyone who wants to see the end result.

This sounds amazing. What are you going to use as a pump?

Don't get your hopes up too high though. I think it will be more humorous then anything else. Just want to add some spice and fun to the forums...

Two goals:
The phone works while being watercooled and;
The watercooling unit actually works

Because of the tiny space between PCB's (theres actually 2 inside a V710, I don't have alot of room to work with.) But this is the reason I chose this model. The gap between PCB's is just enough to run some tubing through and a makeshift heatsink.

I won't/can't promise it will look clean. As I don't think it will. I'll try my best. At worst, it will be hilarous....

EDIT:

I haven't decided. I'm literally working on it right now....This is my biggest challenge.

Not going to use the cellphone battery for the pump.

This isn't for practical purposes anyhow, just a novelty... something fun to do and laugh at. Show yer friends etc...
But who knows...
