GA-P35-DS3L VS. ABIT IP35-e - Page 2

If it helps, I went through exactly the same decision making process and went for the Gigabyte board.

Marginally less expensive and with a BIOS that is more "newb friendly" - an important factor for a neophyte such as myself - the Gig board seemed to make the most sense. That said, the Abit blue is very pretty.

I'm now paralysed by indecision on choosing a CPU....!

Ahh, brilliant timing for this thread, I was getting ready to make the exact same one myself. I hope to order the replacement for my defunct P5B today.

However, I hope you don't mind the slight threadjack OP... I had a 3rd contender in my decision, the MSI P35 Neo Combo-F. Does anybody have opinions on this motherboard and how it compares to the other two?

And, just for the sake of a good debate, how about the DFI Infinity's? (Both P965 and P975x), or the Abit AB9 Pro (also P965) - and $79 after a $50 rebate.

I would stick with the P35 chipset. As for MSI, I havent used them since the days AMD reigned supreme. I have read some great reviews on their boards lately. They offer a decent P35 and 750i board.

I would say if you are confidant at overclocking (which, Chipp, i'm presuming you are) I would say go for the ip35-e. The pro really isn't worth a whopping $100 more. No experience of the MSI board though.
I'm hopefully getting an abit soon

By The Way...whats up when forum directors start hijacking threads! Lol...I'm kidding.

I would only go with the IP35-Pro if you want RAID. But then again, if you are willing to spend $140, I would recommend the LanParty DK P35-T2RS AKA DFI Dark!

DFI Infinity $79 is a good P965 buy but I would stick with P35 board. I tried few MSI boards included P35 Neo during I tested boards with E2xxx. It is ok but not good as Gigabyte DS3L and Abit IP35-E in my case.
