Dam I hate making decisions...
It is hard to say because I don't have a z5500 to compare. But I can hear a big difference between my z2300 and the promedia 5.1 ultra. The z2300 and promedia 5.1 ultras are not on the same level.

For music, you can't do better than the promedia 5.1 ultras (not referring to customized setups).

I have notice the woofer on the Klipsch are tighter than the Logitechs, but again I don't have z5500 woofer to compare.

Do note that promedia speakers are bigger than the z2300 speakers.
So if you have limited desk space, think twice.

I personally think if you can get a set of promedia 5.1 ultra at a good deal, get them, well worth the money. But they can be quite expensive. The Logitech z5500 have been going for about 180 or so lately.

So I think to pick one or another depends mainly on price.
For me, I was lucky to find a set for 150.

His headphone setup costs more than these speakers and (I haven't heard them myself, but I would imagine) sound oh-so much better for music. Speakers can't compete with headphones in sound quality per dollar.
